Outstanding businesses from around Kansas were recognized in a Statehouse ceremony Tuesday evening.
The Kansas Business Development Center presented its annual awards.
Each of the eight regional SBDC sites chose an existing, emerging and exporting business of the year. The regional sites are based at various state colleges.

ST. MARYS — The Sugar Creek Country Store is a sensation of old-fashioned goodness reminiscent of general stores in days past. With ragtime and big band music playing in the background, customers can lunch in the New York-style deli, splurging on a Pullman Panini piled with roast beef, onions, jalapenos and cream cheese, or shop bulk foods, where they will discover nostalgic items.
